GERMAN AWARD FOR MEDIUM SIZED COMPANIES
Düsseldorf/Salzkotten, 15.10.19: As one of the seven finalists in NRW, the Condor Group was honored in the context of the 25th competition for the "Großer Preis des Mittelstandes" in Düsseldorf at the end of September.
The gala of the Oskar Patzelt Foundation for the four competition regions Lower Saxony/Bremen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland and Schleswig-Holstein/Hamburg was attended by more than 500 entrepreneurs and numerous invited guests. The celebration took place at the Maritim Hotel in Düsseldorf.

The board members of the Oskar Patzelt Foundation presented the coveted award statue to 11 companies from these four competition regions. 20 companies were delighted to receive the "Finalist" award. All of the honorees beat out 1,667 competitors who were listed in the four 2019 competition regions. Initially, more than 5,000 small and medium-sized enterprises from all over Germany were nominated for the competition. For this, five competition criteria had to be met: Overall development of the company, creation and safeguarding of jobs and apprenticeships, innovation and modernisation, commitment to the region as well as service and customer proximity, marketing.
Since the company was founded by Hermann-Josef and Maria Schulte in 1997, Condor has developed into a successful, medium-sized family business located at Salzkotten in East Westphalia. In the MedTec sector, Condor operates worldwide with its orthopaedic portfolio and is the German market leader for surgical retractor systems. In the Custom Solutions sector, Condor is one of the leading manufacturers and service providers for wire erosion technology, milling technology and surface finishing. As the newest and most promising manufacturing process, additive manufacturing has been part of the Condor Group's services since 2018.
Highly qualified employees realize the customer and product requirements. Condor focuses on the training and further education of its employees, regularly organises training courses and offers individual solutions. Constantly growing, Condor attaches great importance to the optimal integration of newly acquired employees. As a family-friendly company, the company also offers young parents flexible working time models after returning from parental leave. The St. Martin daycare center, which opened in 2018, also supports the compatibility of work and family. Social responsibility is a matter of course for Condor : With the financial support of the civic foundation Salzkotten , projects for people from the region are promoted.
About the SME award: This is awarded annually by the Oskar Patzelt Foundation and other sponsors. The goals include promoting respect and appreciation for entrepreneurial responsibility, expanding networks in the SME sector, presenting committed entrepreneurial personalities and supporting a culture of self-employment with the motto "Healthy SMEs - Strong Economy - More Jobs". Companies cannot apply themselves, but are nominated by third parties.
